Finding bugs/optimisation issues in a big #UnrealEngine project can feel like searching for needles in a haystack
That’s why I made: Project Optimise Tool
It scans your whole #UE5 project & flags bugs/optimisation opportunities

Been making progress on my new #UnrealEngine 'Asset Showcase Tool'
Got auto asset text labels working over the last couple of evenings
Want to hear when the tool launches? Join my newsletter 👇

Still needs some tweaks and UI cleanup, but it’s already working with the core part of the tool: quickly arranging assets to showcase them (you can see that in the second part of the vid)
My goal is to make showcasing game art assets inside #UE5 quick and painless!

I love playing all the new demos that come out on Steam.
It's a great way to see different mechanics in action and add ideas to your mental design library
I'm a big fan of incremental games, so today I'm giving these a go:
🔸Orbrix
🔸Necromancer Army
🔸Next Reign Kingdom
Any good Steam demos you've played recently?
'Zombie Typing' is a game I'm making in my spare time
It's a mashup of Typing and Survival, wrapped in a Zombie apocalypse
Got a FREE demo on Steam:

Are typing skills good enough to stay alive? Give the demo a go!

I've been messing around with the idea of procedurally redirecting character attacks/strikes — which I'm calling Strike Warping.
YELLOW: authored animation's strike-frame pose.
GREEN: procedurally adjusted pose.
RED: target.
Notifies mark the strike frames in the animation.
I’ve launched 2 #UnrealEngine tools for finding bugs & optimisation issues:
🔸Project Optimise
🔸Level Optimise
I’m currently working on a new tool for quickly showcasing your game art assets in-engine

I stumble across this GIF every so often on my PC, and it still makes me smile
Years ago I made a fighting game called 'Rage' with my friends and I as the characters
This was my character sheet of attacks
The game took far too long to make… but I’m still glad I did
If you’re curious, I wrote a postmortem about it

I solo-developed a game called 'Freerunners' and wrote a postmortem on the realities of solo game deving

Here is the TL;DR:
🔸Early decisions (genre, scope, tech) define everything
🔸Without deadlines, your game will drift
🔸You don’t need a better plan; you likely need less scope
🔸Get feedback or become an echo chamber of one
🔸Everything takes longer than you think
🔸You are the bottleneck
🔸Long projects lock you into outdated decisions
🔸Finishing is a skill, but so is knowing when to stop
🔸Time spent on one project is time not spent on another
🔸Do you really need to do it all alone?
Check out the full postmortem for more in-depth breakdown

I made a game called 'Freerunners'
A precision parkour game built around tight movement, fast restarts, and chasing better times
Shave seconds off every run!

I added a new “Articles” section to my website
It’s a collection of in-depth posts I wrote on Unreal Engine, game dev, and real-world production:
🔸Postmortems
🔸Tips & Tricks
🔸Guides
🔸Tech Experiments
Check it out👇

These were previously buried in a different section under 100+ odd Quick Dev Tips, so I’ve pulled them out into their own space to make them more obvious!

Been making progress on my new:
#UE5 ASSET SHOWCASE TOOL
The idea is to help you quickly showcase and arrange assets in seconds inside #UnrealEngine
Sign up for my tools newsletter to get notified when I launch it:

Current progress:
🔸Built out the Add To Level workflow with advanced settings
🔸Basic asset arranging/layout tools
🔸Early scene helper tools started (like the turntable actor in the video)
Next up, I'm going to be properly fleshing out the asset arranging side of things
What would you want to see in a tool like this? Anything you think would be especially useful?

Just came across a blog post I wrote a while back:
“5 Useful Unreal Engine Blueprint Tips & Tricks”
Still relevant, and I still use them all the time in-engine

I’ve got a game on Steam called 'Indie Dev Story'
It’s a short clicker game about trying to survive making your first game as an indie dev
Play it for FREE on Steam
👉 https://t.co/8WbI7xwVDv
Originally released it on itch a long time ago, but people seemed to enjoy it… so I polished it up a bit a while back and brought it over to Steam
A lot of what’s in the game is inspired by my early game dev days. Starting in a grotty basement and working up to a small proper office, with furniture based on what I had back then and characters inspired by my friends and me.
Give it a go, and if you enjoy it, feel free to follow me on Steam to see what I release next!

Realised I was spending too much money on sound effects for my games
Classic indie dev:
My audio was so badly organised it was easier to buy new sounds than search through what I already had
Fixed it with a simple, searchable audio workflow (article)👇
https://t.co/LhDxkBrCOc
If you've got a growing audio library, this is definitely worth setting up
Wish I’d done this sooner. It's already saving me time and money

A while ago, I started building a set dressing tool for #UnrealEngine to speed up level building
Got distracted… and never finished it
Thinking of picking it back up to help build out my Zombie Typing game faster
What would you want from a tool like this?
