Youth & Family Department of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada. Strengthening churches and sharpening leaders in ministry to the next gen. & families
The Bible is more communal than individual.
Jesus teaches us to pray "Our Father" not "My Father"
Paul uses the phrase, "our Lord" 53 times, & "my Lord" only 1 time.
"Jesus is my personal savior" is not found in Holy Scripture.
We are the people of God
We belong to each other
The Gospel doesn't need defending. The Gospel will defend itself.
The powerless need defending, the marginalized need defending, the widow, the orphan, those who are hurting, abandoned, and ostracized need defending.
Four things you can do to reach the next generation:
1. Stop criticizing young leaders
2. Find, fuel and fund the next generation
3. Flip the keys
4. Mentor, equip and convene
The next generation needs older generations. (They just don’t need them clinging to power.)
