Fun fact. Rakesh was not our first choice for this case. With the large # of bird mascots in NCAA we originally wanted Charlie Kelly, Bird Law Expert. But Rakesh was good at the price fixing and roster cut stuff...
@heitner@heitner - I am open to discussions on my compensation on 2 conditions. Number 1, my comp always has to increase. Number 2, well the more I think about it, I guess there is only 1 condition….
BREAKING: Rakesh and Grant House Share Nobel Peace Prize for Bold Work in Eliminating Athletes Before Paying Them.
In a moving ceremony held in front of a burning swim cap, Rakesh thanked the plaintiff team, while Grant read from his Yahoo article: “Still no regrets”.
@SethDavisHoops - SD, This came as a complete shock to me also, but apparently Grant House might have completely fabricated his last NCAA meet story about being accused of ruining the sport. I know, I know, it hurts when your heroes disappoint you.
And forgive me if I am skeptical about his most recent tale of woe.
I believe House last competed in the NCAAs in 2023. At that time, there was no injunctive relief and no roster limits. The lawsuit he was sponsoring in exchange for a healthy fee was solely about back pay.
It is highly unlikely that any athletes would have been upset with him then.
@TomMarsLaw@TomMarsLaw - False! Berman basically guaranteed an approval on April 7th... A man charging $500M could not be wrong! They way I see it, we should be proactive and keep cutting kids. https://t.co/VQfJDvuCHO
More old family videos today. Found this gem of Bermy 😂The video even pulls up a site to flex all those fancy objections.
But he’s got a point… I mean, the Judge probably — most likely — surely saw everything in those 3 prelim objections just like the 200+ final ones, right?
@4Common_Cents@BrandiHahn10420 @therealshenger @WinterSportsLaw@4common_cents Is he guilty of fabricating a story? Yes. But havent we all done that at one time or another. What if I was just being silly with this whole Roster Limit thingy… I never thought cutting 5k kids would be such a big deal and tank the settlement. Jeez, sue me...

Grant House Timeline:
2020 – Coach advises him NOT to use his name.
2024 (March) – Told he’s ruining the sport at NCAAs.
2024 (Dec) – Tells Yahoo: NO REGRETS
2024 (Dec) – Letter to judge: No mention of roster limits.
2025 (May) – SwimmingWorld: Still NO REGRETS
Brave Hero!
@therealshenger @WinterSportsLaw Is it brave to write to the judge in December and NOT mention roster limits or the devastating harm it was causing, despite being begged by the swimming community to stand up and say something? He is not getting a Christmas card… sorry not sorry. https://t.co/tQC2vLk4hM
The named plaintiffs in the House case - Grant House, Sedona Prince and Nya Harrison - sent a letter to the presiding judge in the case, Claudia Wilken, imploring her to help them create a players’ association.
They are supporting https://t.co/KIOiiv1J0O (AO) as the new PA.

@4Common_Cents@LReathaford@mdhhsu@samcehrlich@noroster_limits Article from December. His coached advised him to NOT get involved with this case. He did anyway. And he ends the article by stating "“Change is good,” he said. “We need to embrace it because it’s going to come whether we like it or not.” No regrets.. https://t.co/fo9DMCdbV7
@samcehrlich@noroster_limits Understood. I think saying I have “no regrets” is really tone deaf. There have been several opportunities to stand up and say I dont agree with the immediate implemenation of roster limits. And I am really sorry so many people were impacted. His answers have been flippant.
