@TBM_JY@roadtocfb Having 12 football members playing 8 conference games did not hold the MW together. There are certainly tradeoffs from expanding. Some good some bad.
@ByChrisMurray While it is unreasonable to envision championships, which sport will be the first to win more games than they lose in a season. Football or Women's basketball?
@ByChrisMurray I can see value for Pack football playing games against Pac schools on the road. Cheaper travel and a subsidy for showing up. What is the upside to hosting Pac schools? They were not much of a draw as conference mates. Why pay them to come to Reno?
@KennyMac1986 I think they provided a hedge against the almost inevitable defection of a full member.
This whole MW plus affiliates all over the place is a risky experiment at best. I am not sure there will even be a MW by 2032.
@ByChrisMurray I am unconvinced Nevada football is coming back any time soon. You probably have Pack athletics ranked too high. But it seems odd you value GCU so highly despite not sponsoring the most important sport at all.
