@SenJohnCurtis strongly comes out against latest change by @DeptofWar. I’m curious how many Latter-day Saints will continue to support the Trump administration. Especially veterans?
Latter-day Saints are among the most patriotic, service-oriented individuals in our country. They are also unequivocally Christian—just look at who is in the name of the Church.
It is unacceptable for a government entity to characterize a faith in a manner that contradicts the religion’s own foundational tenets. I am working now to ensure a correction is made.
Starting this month, more than 900 deep-sea ocean sensors will be pulled out of the Pacific and Atlantic oceans off the coast of Washington, Oregon, Alaska, North Carolina and Greenland. https://t.co/jmm86WQNcY
The Trump administration has announced it will dismantle a $368 million deep-ocean monitoring system that provides critical data on the world’s oceans. The decision is sparking alarm among experts that US is taking eyes off the oceans at a dangerous time. https://t.co/VcifYxiYcR
Exclusive: The Trump administration is diverting at least $90 million from entry fees to national parks to fund a $1.6 million fireworks display and $76 million to repair fountains including the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, according to documents. https://t.co/QeFV9zh7Sy
Records show Utah Gov. Cox knew about a massive Box Elder data center proposal months before it was first approved and before he responded to backlash with an order "establishing higher standards for data center development." https://t.co/PGZmBvjcqg

NEW: Sharyn Alfonsi goes scorched earth on Bari Weiss:
"Over the weekend, my contract with CBS News expired, drawing to a close nearly twenty years with the network, including more than a decade at 60 Minutes.
Following an intense editorial dispute over our CECOT story, repeated attempts by my representation to establish a path forward were met with absolute silence from network executives. The message could not be clearer: my time at 60 Minutes is apparently over.
In the coming days, network leadership may attempt to hide behind corporate euphemisms like "modernization" and “restructuring” to explain away my departure. Don't be misled. This was not a routine corporate transition; it was a deliberate choice to penalize a journalist for refusing to sanitize factually accurate reporting, and it sends a chilling message to the entire newsroom.
Fearless, independent reporting has always been the defining standard at 60 Minutes. Today, CBS management is abandoning that mission, choosing access journalism over accountability and protecting power rather than scrutinizing it.
The wall between editorial independence and corporate interest at CBS is being methodically torn down. Journalists willing to challenge authority are being pushed aside in favor of those who will not. If this continues, the result will be a broadcast that looks like 60 Minutes but lacks the courage and character to produce journalism that matters.
To my colleagues, who became family - working beside you has been the privilege of a lifetime. You are second to none. I’ve learned exactly what it costs to hold the line right now. Hold it anyway. Viewers and the people who trust us with their stories deserve nothing less."

The Trump administration on Friday announced a sweeping policy designed to make it harder for immigrants already in the U.S. to get permanent residency, or a green card.
Officials said they would eliminate the option for many immigrants seeking a green card to complete the process without having to leave the U.S. Instead, in most cases, those immigrants will be required to return to their home countries in order to apply for an immigrant visa overseas through an American consulate.
Current and former U.S. immigration officials told @camiloreports the policy will likely have wide-ranging implications. https://t.co/8yMcNXPhL6
☀️ UV UPDATE + WHY IT MATTERS THIS WEEKEND
We’re looking at a UV Index of 9 this weekend, that’s in the very high category, even though temperatures may still feel fairly mild.
I’ve put together a couple graphics to break it down:
📊 One shows UV through the year — and how quickly it ramps up from spring into summer
🏔️ Another explains why UV is stronger here in Utah — including our higher elevation and thinner atmosphere
Bottom line: you don’t need triple-digit heat to get strong sun. In fact, this time of year can be sneaky because the temperatures don’t always match the strength of the UV.
Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a little shade will go a long way if you’re spending time outside this weekend.

Tyler Robinson is back in court today - his mother, father, and brother are in the first row of the courtroom.
The first issue being discussed: the defense is motioning to hold a member of the Utah County Prosecution Team, Chris Ballard, in contempt of court after going on Fox + Friends (as well as other appearances, defense calling it a “media tour”) — defense arguing this extra-judicial statements were made that have a risk of impacting the proceedings.
The question at hand: were his media appearances a decision made as a team within the Utah County Attorney’s office or did Mr. Ballard do this on his own? And is that in violation of court orders? @KUTV2News
NYT confirms — with new details:
Last year, Navy SEALs used two boats to escort Kash Patel and nine others on what a Pentagon email called a 'VIP Snorkel' next to one of the military's most sacred sites, the underwater tomb of the U.S.S. Arizona.
One Navy vet called the swim "horrifying." https://t.co/wuBwyvxaXY
President Trump was months late in disclosing tens of millions of dollars in stock trading, according to his latest investment filings, pushing the legal limits of a financial practice Americans have largely opposed from their elected officials. https://t.co/od9pe0I1tt
