Just plain ol’ Cathy. Not selling books, booking speeches, monetizing web content, building platform,or paid by anyone.I just ponder & write.Opinions are my own.
9 million to vetted non-profits doing seriously good work in small to midsize communities addressing homelessness, addiction, delivering health services and mental health crisis care. They operate with more financial responsibility at the grass roots level.I’d give 900,000 to a new church plant & $100,000 to helping some needy families get vehicles.
Tom Brady says his career turned around when a sports psychologist told him to stop complaining about what he wasn’t getting and start stewarding what he had the right way
“Greg said to me, ‘Why don’t you quit bitching about all the things you’re not getting, and how about you do the best with whatever opportunities you get?’, ‘Stop worrying about what the other quarterback’s getting. Stop worrying about what the coach is saying to you.’”
“‘Every time you get in there, you bring the juice. You bring the energy. You bring the enthusiasm. You treat practice like a game.’ Because if you just decide to go out there and you’re blaming everybody else, where does that get you? So I started to change my attitude.”
“I didn’t have a lot of confidence in myself. And when you don’t have a lot of confidence in yourself, you blame other people. When you gain confidence in yourself, you start pointing the finger at yourself.”
“I would encourage every athlete to look in the mirror after every day of practice or a game and say, ‘What can I do better to help the team? What can I do better?’”
“Not, ‘What does the coach need to do better?’ Not, ‘What do my teammates need to do better?’, ‘What do I need to do better?’ If every player does that, you’re going to have an incredible team.”
“You can’t have a false confidence. You don’t only gain your confidence because of your physical ability. You gain your confidence because you’re prepared, because you’re competitive. I couldn’t just show up and be better than everybody.”
“I had to show up prepared. I had to show up with energy. I had to show up with my body feeling right. I had to show up like I was on a mission.”
A podcaster asked of a DSA spokesperson,
“Where will we put the rapists if they close all the prisons?” Since rape and even pedophilia don’t seem to have the same cultural taboo for many candidates associated with the influencing subcultures being enthusiastically recruited and endorsed by DSA and some left wing elements of more established political party traditions in America, why would anyone think they care where the rapists, pedophiles or even murderers are put? They will ultimately justify killing anyone who doesn’t go along with their philosophy and system of government. There will be no need for prisons when their philosophy and bigotry is fully enshrined. Their moral guide gives them permission to lie to anyone who is not in agreement with their moral system and to kill anyone who will not submit to and embrace it under duress. The wrong questions are being asked because erroneous assumptions are being made. One group is simply not like the other. And the incompatibility will become clearer and clear with time. One side will win. One side will lose. That appears to be the eventual outcome resulting from the fundamental differences in the influencing foundational
values and moral beliefs of opposing groups.
@JoshuaBarzon Except the UMC’s confiscatory trust clause over property…. Wesley was shortsighted on that one and it’s been administered by UMC Conferences inequitably, as the recent chaos over disaffiliations have shown. .
@JoshuaBarzon We steward kingdom resources for the LORD God who owns all. Of course the congregation needs to have access to transparent financials. That’s one thing I’ve appreciated about the Methodist congregations I’ve been part of.
@TarmaUru@epochhealth Biblically the order is spirit, soul, & body- 1 Thessalonians 5:23. The world’s emphasis on the flesh reverses it. Spirit & soul are eternal, body is not, but still created by & useful for the glory of God,the gain of those we serve, & our own experience of the goodness of God.
@BethMooreLPM From years of working with women in crisis, emotional emergency can become spiritual emergence, especially if guided properly by someone who had vern there.
@KatelynBeaty Trending….cultural phenom…. Like no one had experienced it before …. It’s part of spiritual maturing.
