Jeremiah 29:11 - reads, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”.
We spend years chasing success—
the degrees, the promotions, the recognition.
And along the way, we tell ourselves it’s okay to miss the call… reschedule the dinner… let the text go unanswered.
We convince ourselves there will be time for connection after we arrive.
But the higher we climb without the people who matter… the lonelier that “success” starts to feel.
Because if success costs you connection…
it’s not success.
It’s grief in a nicer suit.
We don’t just need goals.
We need people to share them with.
So the next time you’re measuring progress, don’t just count the wins—
look around and ask: who’s still with me?
