@Strickomaster Progression is still important for older teacher. I feel physically able to work until I’m 67 (9 more years) but unless professional and financial progression is possible why shouldn’t I retire early

@Strickomaster I’m 58 and recognise all the barriers to older teachers listed in the graphic. I came into teaching 12 years ago so feel as adaptable as someone with similar experience. I’m the oldest in my department but fitness is not the issue as I have fewest absences. But I may leave soon

@LucyGriff76 I’m 57 this year but only 12 year’s teaching, retirement age 67. Hope to retire at 60 (other pension is available then). If the pensions don’t go far enough I’ll be a Waitrose delivery driver 3 days a week - my wife thinks I’m joking but I’m serious
