Cinderella meets Cronenberg in the body horror movie THE UGLY STEPSISTER, which made an audience member vomit during its Sundance premiere.
Watch the official trailer.
This week’s Severance was the most aggressively great writing and directing I’ve seen in a long time. Erin Wagoner and Uta Briesewitz knocked that out of the park in every way. 🤯
This was genuinely one of the most fun, original, gorgeous debut features I’ve ever seen. Emilie Blichfeldt is a force to be reckoned with in a real way.
Couldn’t have asked for a better kick off to my first Sundance experience!!
During the #Sundance premiere of “The Ugly Stepsister,” a moviegoer leaned over into the aisle and vomited.
Emilie Blichfeldt’s body horror film has several scenes of crude cosmetic surgery, including its protagonist eating a tapeworm, sewing in eyelashes and enduring a barbaric rhinoplasty. https://t.co/jEvcBa4nCL

I know I am years late to the party but Naomi Scott is giving a master class in every second of Smile 2. It’s one of those performances that deserves all the recognition.
I don’t know why we aren’t talking about THE FIRST OMEN all the time. Pretty cleanly the best studio horror movie of the year. Every sequence is directed with the confidence of a seasoned pro and coalesces into a hellscape only captured by a master. I can’t believe it exists.
