When the traffic signal was red, a chana chor garam (an Indian snack) vendor was passing by where one of the strings broke and all of it fell down on the road.

This felt personal to people around this.

People helped him out to put his stuff back, asked about the damage and contributed to give him ₹2000 instantly.

All of this happened within ~ 130 seconds.

Such stories must be appreciated.

I urge a CA Protection Act to safeguard them.

The Big Four (Deloitte, PWC, E&Y, and KPMG) dominate India's audit scene, with huge mandates. We must encourage Indian CA firms to grow and reduce their influence.

As a CA in practice for almost 25 years now... some thoughts for younger CAs.

1. DO NOT rely on statutory work. They can change. They will change.
2. Offer your skill and knowledge to clients not your CA tag or the membership. If your work is solely based on you being a CA... you can be replaced.
3. The ICAI exists to regulate our profession not to ensure members get business
4. MOF/SEBI/MCA/RBI .. any regulator mandates a CA certificate or audit because it aids them and not because you need to be employed. If you stop adding value... they will not need your certificate!
5. Reskill. Upskill. Not once. Keep doing.
6. If small company Audits are going... put your efforts to see what more can be done. DO NOT put efforts in campaigning to stop this! They takes you no where.
7. I have seen multiple services offering (dictated by law) vanish in my 20+ years ... people who reskilled did not vanish. CAs who were only relying on those things and not doing anything else vanished.
8. You are a professional building a practice. See yourself as some one who needs to deal with the business risks. Not someone who seeks immunity to it by operation of law.

PS: All people who want to abuse me, troll me are free to do so. All people who want to tell that it is easy for someone with 20 years of practice but not for someone starting off... stay where you are. Wish you the best.

I’m once again saying, Come to Delhi, and don’t speak in Hindi if you don’t know/want, speak in English or sign language or whatever convenient. Nobody will be rude to you for not talking in Hindi. And certainly nobody would tell you that you came to delhi to beg. We know if you came to delhi for work, it’s because delhi people were not skilled enough for that task, that’s why someone who knew the job better than a Delhiite got that job/started that business. No hate for not speaking in Hindi, you’re all welcome! And it’s not just Delhi who is giving you job/bread/money, it’s both ways, you’re giving employment to Delhiites too, the cabbies, sabzi walas, delivery boys, your house’s owner, everyone is earning their living because of you. So, we’re thankful that you choose Delhi as your destination. Enjoy your time here! Cheers.
