I did a second test with laser marking paper which should burn in some of the black color of the paper. Turned out OK expect for a few spots where the dark color didn't attach right. Might be a skill issue around the power settings or similar!

I’m an engineer but I’ve always kept a creative side alive. I even ran a small print shop for a while.

I bought new glasses today and personalized them with a family monogram. The laser result turned out great.

I have a small xTool f1 and just got the rotary attachment as an early birthday present to myself. Great opportunity to test it out! Engraved with blue light on 60% power, 80mm/s, dual pass and 120 lines/cm. Glass was spray painted with black chalk.

Starting today I’m joining @Geocodio as Principal Software Engineer, Infrastructure.

Excited to work with @MathiasHansen , @mjwhansen , TJ, Cory, Emily and Megan — a sharp and tight-knit team — and put my experience in infrastructure, scaling and automation to use.

I’ll still be active in the Laravel community (and at future Laracons). Just operating from a slightly different angle — likely still over a beer 🍻
