@Mulvihill64 Realistically the MTA just doesn’t need to exist and certainly doesn’t need to exist north of Scarborough or Falmouth (by tolling 295 to Falmouth). It’s not a terrible way to tax tourism south of there but people in York county would hate that
@Mulvihill64 I’ve always thought the state should take over the section of the turnpike from the 295 cutoff to at least the Falmouth spur and make it a freeway. There have been times I’ve been in Westbrook going to Falmouth or Freeport and still take 295 because it’s free and close to as fast
@Ericrse37986 Whitmer’s not running for president and Michigan is about to have two young senators so aside from cabinet positions her career is already over. Her endorsements don’t really matter anymore from a political POV
Hannah. Troy. Chellie. Matt.
Maine Democrats are ready to fight for every vote from Mexico to Meddybemps, from Allagash to Acton, from Portland to Presque Isle. Because as Maine goes, so goes the nation.
@Polls0Politics@NilesGApol He was trying to make a return against an incumbent governor after terming out. Janet Mills also over performs in the district. LePage would’ve lost to Jared but he’s going to smoke Dunlap
@AnthonyMEmerson Yeah gotta admit I’ve been very impressed with Troy the past week. He’s been organized, on message, and has yet to make a major misstep. I was skeptical but I’m pretty convinced now
@MassJumbo I think it’s more likely there’s an Obama. Someone unknown to those who aren’t paying attention but know to those who do. Someone like Ossoff or Beshear or Moore
@mattyglesias It should also be noted that an enormous percentage of American Jews live in or near NYC. Much harder to make Mamdani a boogeyman.
He’s earned a grudging respect from even more centrist New Yorkers bc his admin has been competent on the basics (snow removal/disorder/etc.)
