At Guantanamo, as of this morning, there are 50 migrants held at the ICE facility, and 62 "high threat" migrants held at military facilities, a SOUTHCOM official told me.

The Laken Riley Act that became law a few days ago will provide a steady stream of people that could now be considered "criminal a*iens" and subject to mandatory and potentially indefinite civil immigration detention. Many could in fact, end up at GITMO even without a conviction and many would be labeled "vicious gang members" without a shred of evidence of actual gang affiliation.

And before you scream, 'noway the Constitution does permit that,' well think again. why you ask? DHS v Thuraissigiam happened and it all went to sh*t from there.

BTW, law enforcement was staged at the @thePearlChurch today. They have a Spanish speaking ministry and claim to “love people” but opened their doors to law enforcement to raid the communities of their members. 🤷🏼‍♀️

People on the ground this morning are reporting a handful of arrests. ICE was at multiple locations this AM. Community responders did a great job showing up.

It’s shameful for ICE to terrorize these communities. Many already carry a ton of trauma and came to the US for safety.

While ICE now saying it’s targeting 100+ people today, so far we have seen nowhere near that number of arrests.

For example, at one of the larger operations today, @jennifermeckles saw TWO people taken into custody.
