@xanbarksdale And those of you thinking “hit the catcher” with your swing follow through need to remember that monster with the tools of ignorance behind the dish also happens to be a human being with a family. He’s a fellow competitor just like you and your teammates. Humanity trumps winning!
This is absolutely terrible…one of the saddest things I’ve seen.
Players, this is a good reminder that your coach isn’t being a d*ck when he keeps repeating:
“Put the bad down.”
“Stop swinging.”
“Back up from the net.”
“Pay attention.”
This is every coach’s worst nightmare.
@CoachMongero I’m not sure the majority of those players should have been in those programs to begin with. Likely the over recruiting/over reach (early commits) efforts on both ends is what’s leading to the mindset throughout amateur baseball to jump ship. Also super seniors don’t help things.
Just sat down at the doctors office and this 75 year old man starting talking to me like I’d known him for years.
He’s been stage 4 for the past 3 years, excited he’s gaining some weight and hoping all his kids and grandkids show up for his birthday July 29th.
When his name got called he got up and said, “Have a great year, I don’t want to say have a good day because that’s too short but make this year great!” The nurse said, “How about have a great decade?” He said, “I don’t have a decade darlin.”
I find people who are struggling the most show us how to appreciate life through their eyes in such a pure way, it brings tears to my eyes.
I hope his kids show up for his birthday.
If they saw the look on his face while he was talking about them and how much that’d mean to him there’s no way they wouldn’t make it work. 🤍
How to write an email to a college coach 📩
During the year, I speak with thousands of student-athletes and their families about the college recruiting process.
Often, the first question I am asked is how to contact college coaches directly.
A thread 🧵
Understand that no job is beneath you… I had a young coach tell me one time that “he doesn’t want to do all the s%*t jobs”. There are no s%*t jobs in baseball. EVERYTHING contributes to winning! He didn’t last too long with the program or in the profession 😜
@billymote11@CoachReganFS Realizing baseball doesn’t define you as a person is hard when it’s where you get you’re only source of validation. It’s solely a part of what makes up the whole person you will become.
