Right now, big tech companies can benefit from Australian journalism without paying their fair share.
We’re taking the next steps to make sure platforms contribute to Australian news.
Because there's no substitute for Australian news and stories told by Australian journalists.
“AIJAC was the single largest private provider of all-expenses-paid overseas trips to federal MPs over a four-year period. More than 500 politicians, journalists, and senior public servants have been flown to Israel on curated tours since 2002.”

Pentagon “Skims” European Money: Allies Pay, But Weapons Don't Arrive
The United States is facing growing dissatisfaction among allies due to delays, cancellations, and the redirection of funds intended for the purchase of American weapons.
Resources meant for supporting Ukraine or modernizing allied forces are being used, in part, to replenish the Pentagon’s own stockpiles, which have been depleted by recent conflicts, particularly in the Middle East.
According to The Washington Post, Europe has already sent approximately $750 million via the PURL (Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List) program to purchase American weapons intended for Ukraine.
However, the Pentagon now plans to use part of this money to replenish its own arsenals instead of delivering the promised equipment. U.S. officials admit, in private conversations, that the Europeans 'likely didn’t fully understand' where the money was actually going.
It is the same mechanism that has been criticized in the past: allies pay, but the final destination of the resources shifts according to Washington's priorities

Labor's ownership of four venues—Canberra Labor Club sites and Randwick in Sydney—operating over 400 machines that lost gamblers $25 million annually, funding the party in a way unmatched by other global political groups.
Bask in that virtue signalling morally superior glow. What a bunch of hypocrites!
Lebanese medics are adopting strategies as they know they are targets:
— Not seeing family or friends so that if they are bombed, they don’t take their loved ones with them
— Reducing team sizes
— Sleeping in ambulances far away from each other so a single strike doesn’t kill them all
Sealed chapter of the Robodebt Royal Commission has now been tabled in parliament - the day after the release of the incredibly useless NACC report https://t.co/yHiV7r4qtt
🇦🇺And as it often happens, through their annoying attacks and threats, the pro-genocide minions have contributed to securing a larger venue, and a wider audience. See you tomorrow, Adelaide.
Deeply disturbing Australia supports the illegal US/Israeli aggression against Iran in violation of the UN Charter. This is not lawful self-defence against an armed attack by Iran & the Security Council has not authorized it. Preventive regime change is an international crime
Prof Brendan Lyon gives an example of how #Big4 exploit the CAANZ system: $8mill consulting causing $100mill loss is capped at $20mill. Taxpayers lose $80mill, while partners pay $1mill. Firm earned $7mill for work that caused $80mill in losses 🚩💥 Just shocking.
