@nerdinthenoke Man, it was horrible. I only go them back because I called my bank and let them know what @CGCComics was doing. They determined it could be considered fraud and they would do a charge back on my credit card. I explained this to CGC and the went into grading the next day
I read New Gods #6, “The Glory Boat,” this morning. So good! I love Kirby’s writing almost as much as his art – and they match each other perfectly. #JackKirby
@MightyMass@MarkBrooksArt You wrote “liked” (past tense) so in case you haven’t read them, Synch has a major storyline in X-Men #5, #18 and #19 from last year.
Swamp Thing #25-27 is a three parter featuring The Demon. These issues are super creepy – in the best way! This concludes the first trade paperback of Moore’s run. Happily I have the single issues for the rest of his run.
Finally starting Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing. I read through about #41 many years ago. This time I’ll read the whole thing and tweet about it in this thread. #SwampThing
Swamp Thing #24 concludes Moore’s first story arc. Just incredible! I wish I could more eloquently describe the poetic language Moore uses in his writing. No one can match him in that regard. This issue ends with another famous image from the run (by Bissette and Totleben).
@DanSchwent I read the first part of your tweet and thought for sure you were going to say you’re going to buy the new Spawn and Batman comic. It is tempting!
@XMen90sCovers Social networks that do not moderate their content are dominated by horrible behavior, driving average users away, and these two phenomena reinforce each other. Twitter would be a cesspool in a year.
Done! Jenkins and Buckingham return for the final issue. It’s a fitting conclusion to Jenkins’s run as Peter reflects on the struggles of his life while visiting his Uncle Ben’s grave. #SpiderMan
Next up in the reading pile: Spider-Man by Paul Jenkins! I think I have all of his Spidey issues, including Webspinners, Peter Parker and Spectacular (volume 2). It will be my first time reading most of the Peter Parker issues. #SpiderMan
Spectacular Spider-Man #22 is a highlight of Jenkins’s run. It features Jenkins’s trademark introspective style to examine mental illness, addiction and individuals’ role in helping, hurting or ignoring people’s struggles. Good stuff.
