Biggest problem rn is mages have no mana cost due to lost chapter early game which leads into a 400 mana item. + most good ap items have HP attached to it. APCs never have to worry about mana after first recall so marksman players are locked under tower eating spells

Riot is going to nerf their first APC mage bot champ (Seraphine).

Issue with nerfing champs directly, is it could have unintended consequences for mid lane, too - obv Sera is mostly played bot/sup so she doesn't have that issue.

The only viable solution without drastically harming the mid/supp ecosystem, imo, is to have a AoE magic damage penalty on bot lane minions if you are assigned Bot role that wears off as game progresses (eg. 50% damage reduction to minions at minute 1, 70% at minute 6).

The biggest advantage mages have over ADCs is waveclear. Their waveclear is so strong, that traditional ADCs are just permafarming under tower. Take away that waveclear, and ADs have a chance to actually play the game and 2v2 early.

I believe this is better solution than going around nerfing every APC (veigar, lux, syndra) and neutering them in their other roles too. Especially with how popular lux is in lower elo, you don't want to collateral damage these ppl playing her mid and ruin their gameplay experience.

@Cubbyxx To beat BLG in this tournament you have to have laners that don't get blasted by Bin, Knight, and Viper on mages. The last mage bot meta Viper was best in the world (although I think Viper is a bad utility adc player I think mages opening up makes BLG really scary)

@Cubbyxx I don't think it's weird to think of BLG as the favorites. They won first stand pretty easily and T1 looked shaky vs TL. HLE will have to beat BLG twice if BLG drop to lower bracket vs them. Also Viper in mage meta is high key nasty.
