NEW: Principal Kirk Moore surprises his students at prom after getting shot while disarming a school shooter.

Moore was seen being crowned as ‘Prom King’ at Pauls Valley High School in Oklahoma.

Just 10 days earlier, Moore heroically charged at a school shooter and was able to stop him from harming any students. Moore was shot in the leg.

The shooter reportedly said he intended to kill students, faculty members, Moore and himself.

Thanks to principal Moore, that didn’t happen.

Pauls Valley High School Principal Kirk Moore is being called a hero after charging at and disarming a school shooter, taking a bullet to the leg while protecting his students.

Police say the suspect, 20-year-old former student Victor Hawkins, allegedly said he wanted to carry out an attack “like the Columbine shooters.” Moore stepped in before anyone else could be hurt.

Despite being shot, he’s expected to recover and says he’s eager to return to work and continue serving his students.

Real courage. Real leadership. This is what protecting your school looks like. 🙌🏾🇺🇸
