Fun stats on @WarehamGatemen walk off Grand slam last night. It’s only the second Cape League walk off slam since 2011. It’s the third Wareham walk off home run in that span with the previous two hit by future major leaguers, Austin Shenton in 2018 and @maxmuncy9 in 2011.

And over with the @FalCommodores Pearson Riebock of @BaylorBaseball set a new opening day mark with an incredible 4 steals.

Another note on the running @BourneBraves. Outfielder Cal Sefcik stole three bases which is the tied for most on opening day since at least 2011. (Clay Grady, Bourne 2024)

Big strikeout night in the @OfficialCCBL. For the first time since at least 2010, two pitchers struck out 10+ batters on the same night.

Commissioner John Castleberry named Wilson Weber (@BeaverBaseball) as the Most Valuable Player of the playoffs.

Weber tallied a .375 batting average in the playoffs alongside a .965 OPS and added two runs, nine hits, three XBH, six RBI and four walks 🔱🔱

Orleans’ Itsuki Takemoto (@HawaiiBaseball) was awarded the B.F.C. Whitehouse Outstanding Pitcher Award 🏆

The recognition is given to the pitcher who has put up the best overall numbers in the Cape Cod Baseball League amongst qualified pitchers. This award considers IP, Ks/IP, WHIP, Appearances, ERA and Batting Average Against.

Manager Scott Pickler of @YD_RedSox eclipsed 600 regular season wins, the first person to ever do that. He led YD to the best regular season record in the CCBL for the 7th time, breaking a tie in that category. The Hall of Famer is now on top of every managerial category.

Another grand slam of a season for the @OfficialCCBL. CCBL teams hit 20 grand slams this summer which is the highest total in the play-by-play data era (2011+) and in 20 fewer games. Here's a thread of some interesting stats from this season as we await the start of the playoffs.

Itsuki Takemoto of @FirebirdsCCBL finished the season with a 0.71 ERA, 13th best in league history. He came in just behind Tim Lincecum (0.69 era), who had one of the most dominate season's in CCBL history for Harwich in 2005.
