🚨 Breaking news: 3 mule deer have been confirmed crossing California's first-ever wildlife overpass.
The deer, captured on trail camera in late May, didn't wait for the official ribbon-cutting. The $20 million wildlife overpass in Siskiyou County, designed to reduce the staggering number of deer and elk killed on Route 97, was apparently usable enough. The bridge will officially open in fall.
We reached out to the 3 mule deer for comment but have not yet received a response.
Wildlife collisions cost the US about $8 billion a year in vehicle damage, injuries, and human deaths. A well-placed crossing pays for itself in reduced accidents within a decade.
A study of 89 wildlife crossings across North America, Europe, and Australia found they reduced wildlife mortality by up to 90% in well-designed projects.
Fencing is doing half the work. A crossing without funnel fencing leading animals toward it is dramatically less effective. The California project includes 3 miles of 8-foot fencing along Route 97.
California has about 100 wildlife crossings planned over the next decade. This one is the first. The Liberty Canyon overpass over the 101 in LA (currently the largest in the world by area) is set to open in 2026.
@HunterBiden thank you for putting yourself out there.
It can't be easy with the level of depravity of some in this space.
Just know that the vast majority are enjoying reading your posts.
Please keep it up!
WTF timeline are we on. Someone called me the MAGA whisperer and I’ll gladly take the title. Left, right, D or R we all want the same things. We’re being divided on purpose by the Epstein Elite Oligarch class because as long as we’re at each other’s throats, they get fat and rich off of our misery. The second we figure out we agree on more than we disagree, they’re done. Love your neighbor. Be yourself. Radical honesty. No fucks given, no fucks taken. Everything else is just noise. (But still fuck Jake “Brick Tamland” Tapper on any time line)
Van Drew was a wolf in sheep's clothing. My district worked hard to get him elected.
He LIED to us.
He must be defeated.
This young man gets it.
Coming together is how we defeat the extremists currently in charge.
@Winder4Congress your future is bright!
Grateful to every volunteer, donor, supporter, friend, and family member who made this campaign possible.
Congratulations to Zack Mullock. Let’s unite, defeat Jeff Van Drew in November, and keep fighting for South Jersey.
The work continues. Let’s keep pushing.

All in one day. This man is not well. Impeachment and removal NOW.
There is no world in which this is okay.
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito did not recuse himself from cases involving Trump’s Treasury Department while his own son was secretly working there as a political appointee and attorney.
His son's employment was hidden so thoroughly that his name appears nowhere on the Treasury Department website, he has no public resume, and his bar listings are outdated.
If Alito had recused himself, the secret would have come out. He didn’t recuse himself.
This is a clear conflict of interest, and the American people deserved to know about it.
The federal recusal standard is clear: a justice must step aside in any case where there is a reasonable basis to question whether he or she can be impartial. A justice ruling on cases involving the department where his son works fails that test. The Treasury Department sits at the center of some of the biggest legal fights of this administration, and challenges to Trump’s $1.776 billion January 6 slush fund could be headed to the Court next.
The Supreme Court is the only court in America with no binding code of conduct. That is completely unacceptable, and it has to change NOW.
Congress controls the Power of the Purse, and therefore the Court’s funding. If the Court will not adopt a binding code of conduct with real recusal review on their own, I support withholding their funding until they do.

BREAKING: Financial disclosures show Trump bought stock in UFC’s parent company, TKO Group, before announcing a UFC event on the White House South Lawn, giving massive publicity to a company in which he has a financial stake.
Under any other president, this would be a major scandal.

Read this piece by a former federal prosecutor. He lays out exactly how rotten Trump’s settlement with himself really is.
Start with the basic structure, because once you see it you cannot unsee it.
Trump sued the IRS for $10 billion over the leak of his tax returns. The judge signaled the case could not move forward, because a president cannot sue the government he runs.
So Trump dropped it.
The judge in her dismissal order noted there was no settlement of record at all.
Then his own Justice Department, run by his former personal lawyer, Todd Blanche, conjured one anyway.
They created a $1.776 billion fund Trump controls, to pay people who claim they were targeted by the government. That includes pardoned January 6 rioters who attacked police officers.
Here is the part that should end the debate. In an addendum to the deal, Blanche barred the IRS from auditing Trump or affiliated individuals. Forbes calculated that immunity could save the Trumps more than $600 million. The man under investigation wrote himself a release from the investigation.
This is the abuse of public office for private gain. It is the very definition of corruption. And as the author warns, the courts may never touch it, because the only people harmed are the American people, and they may lack standing to sue.
Which means it falls to Congress to act.
And we must.

BREAKING: 35 former federal judges, bipartisan, just asked the court to reopen Trump’s sham lawsuit against the IRS and investigate whether the so-called “settlement” was a fraud on the court.
Here is what happened.
Trump sued his own IRS in January demanding $10 billion. The judge started asking hard questions, because the President was literally on both sides of the case.
Two days before briefs were due, Trump yanked the suit.
Hours later, a “settlement” magically appeared: a $1.8 billion taxpayer-funded slush fund to pay off his allies, including January 6 insurrectionists, plus blanket immunity from past IRS investigations for him, his sons, and his businesses.
The former judges told the court the deal “raises profound questions about the parties’ candor toward the court and manipulation of the judicial system.”
Translation: this looks like fraud.
Senate Republicans are already balking. Capitol Police officers injured on January 6th are suing. The walls are closing in.
Kill the slush fund.
Claw back every dollar.
And if the court finds fraud, hold every person who signed that agreement accountable.

DOGE rifled through your Social Security data, your tax records, and your most sensitive personal information. All in the name of transparency, of course.
And now, in that same spirit of transparency, the Trump Administration is blocking the government's own watchdog from finding out what they did with it.
The only reason they’re blocking the investigation is because they're afraid of what it would find.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the DHS Inspector General just opened an audit into a $38 billion warehouse-to-detention scheme that Kristi Noem and her top adviser Corey Lewandowski rammed through.
ICE bought 11 vacant warehouses in a matter of months, paying 11 to 13 percent above market value.
The properties weren’t even zoned for detention. No working plumbing for thousands of detainees. But Noem and Lewandowski pressured ICE to open them by year’s end anyway.
The result? At least $1 billion already spent on nine facilities. Nearly 50 contractors paid $1.7 billion since Trump took office.
Companies with zero immigration detention experience suddenly winning massive federal contracts.
One firm that didn’t even exist until June 2024 got a $6 million DHS contract this January.
Noem is gone.
Lewandowski is gone.
But the bill is still landing on the taxpayer, and the IG investigation is just getting started.
Accountability cannot end when the perpetrators walk out the door.
Every contract needs scrutiny.
Every dollar needs to be traced.
Every official who steered money to inexperienced contractors needs to answer under oath.

This is rotten to the core.
Howard Lutnick, the Commerce Secretary, cut a $5 million check to the Congressional Leadership Fund on April 1, just weeks after agreeing to testify before the House Oversight Committee about his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein.
That testimony happened on May 6. The super PAC he wrote that check to is the main vehicle backing House Republicans and Speaker Mike Johnson, the very people deciding how hard to press him.
Lawmakers were reportedly weighing a subpoena before Lutnick agreed to show up voluntarily.
His name appears in more than 250 Epstein-related records.
He long claimed he hadn’t seen Epstein after 2005, but records show he visited Epstein’s private island in 2012 with his family. He called the encounters “meaningless and inconsequential.”
A $5 million donation from a sitting cabinet secretary to the party running the investigation into him is not a coincidence. It is not normal. It is not how a healthy democracy works.
If a Democratic cabinet official did this, every Republican in Washington would be screaming for hearings, indictments, and resignations.
The silence tells you everything.
Release the Epstein files. All of them.
The American people deserve to know who protected this monster, who profited from his network, and who is paying to make the questions go away. https://t.co/mi2YDzXsYQ

If the president can "sue himself and then settle with himself...and then spend huge amounts of money outside of that appropriations process, why would any president ever go to Congress for money ever again?”
