Shortly after I announced my campaign for Markham Regional Councillor, my original X account, @joetay1212, was maliciously taken over. All access and control were stolen, and the account name was replaced with @Maye2s1.The attacker then sent messages to nearly 29,000 of my followers, asking them to vote for me as a podcast host and directing them to provide personal information. Took us more than a full week of relentless effort, I finally regained control of the account however, every follower, every post, every content was wiped out! Critical time as such, an upcoming election, losing the platform leaves me and my team handicapped. An accident? deliberate?! Well no time to whine and no time to lose. I simply urge everyone to follow my newly registered and verified official again to support me on this journey if God’s willing, becoming one of four Regional Councillors, Markham.
