@BramptonGraham@Sflecce What new curriculum???? And perhaps you have failed to understand that violence in classrooms and in schools is EXTREMELY disruptive!
@MulbearA@jillpromoli@MulbearA, can you provide evidence of indoctrination in schools? What exactly you define as indoctrination.... acceptance, respect and a sense of worth do not equal indoctrination.
@Mari19821 Told my principal on Wednesday that I will NOT volunteer any of my time for free any more. I know my worth. She said my 'next steps' in my performance appraisal be that I try to volunteer more was like a slap in the face. I teach I don't volunteer as a profession.
@Ms_Anchovy@Sflecce It WAS NOT. My sister who is also an educator said that the comment actually reeked of privilege. She uses this as a generic next step for everyone. I will NOT 'volunteer' to follow Lecce's plan. And I will not do it 'for the kids'. I give it my all in TEACHING the kids.
@Ms_Anchovy@Sflecce Had my performance appraisal review today. I did very well. Only 'next step' comment the principal could come up with was that I should volunteer to do more extra curriculars. I told her I absolutely would NOT do that. I know my worth. I will NOT work for free any longer.
@AshleyGWinter One piece of unsolicited but VERY potentially helpful advice....pack a Ziploc bag with an ENTIRE change of clothes (diaper, socks, pants and shirt). If a blowout happens due to pressure changes, you can do a complete change and Ziploc the mess :).
@sabrevaya I'm in sheer awe of both of you. I wish neither of you had to be so inspirational for the reasons that you are, but I am so glad so many get to benefit from your unconditional love, support and dedication. β€οΈ
@1StarAtaTyme@John7Istheman Because there aren't ANY. Unless NO toilet paper or paper towels and SOMETIMES having soap in washrooms is considered a luxury. Enviable, I know. So enviable education is experiencing a SHORTAGE because who the fuck would want to begin a career in that?!?!
@John7Istheman Hey, @John7Istheman, if you want your kid in sports and art activities, pay for them. Educators KNOW their worth. The free ride is over. Pony up, buttercup.
