Going through some boxes from my childhood and found a beautiful series of Giant photos from 1967 Dexter Press! Great find on a hot summer day. First place at All Star break #Giants
"By voting to confirm him, Republicans are endorsing all of this. They are putting their stamp of approval on a Justice Department that investigates the president’s enemies, protects his friends, and treats every question of law as a question of loyalty first. It’s a grotesque perversion of America’s legal system, and it’s frankly beyond anything Roy Cohn could have imagined." https://t.co/1Iw7nNzx1u
Yes, Trump has eclipsed Mitch McConnell as the worst American of my lifetime. So have other monsters Donald has empowered: Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, Stephen Miller, etc.
But without Addison Mitchell McConnell III, there would be no Donald Trump. Remember this: Mitch fed the cancer. He nurtured the tumor. He prevented the oncologists and surgeons from administering treatment. And knowing he possessed the singular cure, he chose to sit on his hands as the terminal disease ate away at our democracy.
That is the sum of his life’s work. That is his ignominious legacy.
For shame.

He had a Social Security Number. He had a valid work permit. He was an authorized, 26-year-old asylum seeker trying to navigate the system, and what did it get him? A bullet through the head. The utter, cold disregard for human life is staggering. They didn't render aid.
🚨 A white police officer was caught on video beating a young Black child who was already on the ground.
The officer is seen kneeling over the kid and repeatedly punching him while the child begs “Stop, bro.” The boy is clearly not fighting back, yet this piece of shit keeps hitting him like he’s enjoying every second of it.
This is what happens when racist cops are allowed to treat Black children like animals and get away with it. Disgusting.

Senator Susan Collins of Maine was relieved when Graham Platner dropped out of the Senate race, but now after today’s ICE shooting she’s one of the most hated Senators in office because she gave the Trump Administration & ICE the okay to do what they’re doing.
Schiff: How is this even happening—that we’re contemplating the confirmation of this guy? The judge, in that decision on Monday, referred Blanche, basically, to the New York Bar Association because of his conduct.
How is it possible that, after being referred to the bar association for potential discipline on Monday, we’re contemplating this guy for attorney general on Wednesday?
Fun Fact: The President of the goddam United States paid nearly $6 million in damages today to a woman he raped. Once upon a time, this would have been the only news you heard.
He fomented an insurrection. He botched a pandemic. He stole classified documents. He committed every type of fraud known to man. He is compromised. He protects pedophiles. He's a 34-time convicted felon. He's an adjudicated rapist, who paid his victim $5.6M so far. He monetizes the presidency and weaponizes justice. He's lawless. He obstructs justice at every turn. He lies as he breathes. He's narcissistic. He's psychopathic. He's paranoid. He's sadistic. I can go on.
YET - no matter how bad we know he is, and no matter how bad the things we know he did are, remember this: Some of the things we don't yet know he did, are even worse.
🚨 JUDGE KATHLEEN WILLIAMS DROPS A BOMBSHELL:
Federal Judge Kathleen Williams has referred key Trump lawyers — including Acting AG Todd Blanche — to state bar authorities for disciplinary action in the IRS settlement scandal.
In a scathing ruling, she found the $10B lawsuit was filed for an “improper purpose”: a collusive, bad-faith scheme lacking real adversity between parties. It was designed to rubber-stamp audit immunity for Trump and allies plus a $1.8B taxpayer-funded “anti-weaponization” fund.
Self-dealing that abused the courts.
Good morning and Happy Monday to everyone who wonders where was all that feisty energy Jake Tapper threw at Biden, while trump basically told him to kneel and he said "yes sir?"
"Well I'm on a normal path right here, sir."
Phony, punk ass bitch.
🚨BREAKING UPDATE OUT OF MAINE: The man killed in the Biddeford, Maine ICE shooting has been identified as a 26-year-old Colombian man who was authorized to work in the United States and had been issued a Social Security number.
This wasn’t a “violent criminal.” This wasn’t even an undocumented immigrant.
This was someone who had legal authorization to live and work here.
So why was ICE trying to pull him over?
A witness also says he saw a large white vehicle ram the smaller vehicle, followed by a second impact… And heard gunshots.
He says he then saw an officer open the vehicle door, pull a man out with blood covering his head, and heard him say: “I tried to stop.”
ICE agents do not have the authority to stop whoever they want, give conflicting orders, escalate an encounter, and then use deadly force when that situation becomes chaotic.
If the government gives agents the power to carry weapons and take someone’s life, those agents have a responsibility to make sure they are acting within the law before they create a situation where someone can be killed.
A person’s rights do not disappear because an ICE agent decides to stop them.
Which means the question that must be answer is this…
Was this man killed because ICE created a dangerous situation that never should have happened?
Because when the government can put someone in a life-or-death situation, the question cannot only be whether the final seconds justified pulling the trigger.
We have to ask why this encounter was allowed to escalate in the first place.
Murray: Is it true that people making under $184,000 pay a 12.4% Social Security tax rate?
Dahl: Yes
Murray: And the rate for someone making $1,000,000?
Dahl: 2.2%
Murray: So, a 12.4% tax for people making less than $184,000, but 2.2% for a millionaire or .0002% for billionaires.
I'm going to predict that when the damage assessment is complete, well into the future, Trump's greatest crime will prove to be espionage - AND - it will be the most catastrophic breach of national security in American history.
We will discover he passed secrets to Russia from day 1 because he was compromised; and did favors for the Saudis shortly after, purely for personal profit; and who knows what the hell else.
His many Useful Idiocies will boggle the mind. And his America First gaslight will be remembered as it should be remembered: "Trump Before America, facilitated by idiots who called themselves patriots."
His treachery - most done purely for power and profit, and some from pathology, revenge, and entitlement, will have massively impacted the globe, permanently shifted wealth, and cost many millions of lives.
I have to add that a good deal of it would not have happened but for our legacy media's consistent and widespread normalization of his disorders.
🚨 Evanston, IL ordered Flock Safety to remove all cameras after a state audit revealed that the company was illegally sharing Illinois data with federal agencies.
When I heard about Senator Graham’s death last night, the first thing I thought about was not all the things he said and did in service of Donald Trump. I thought of the time before Donald Trump when he was a brother to Senator John McCain.
A time when senators from different parties could fight about politics and still be friends. A time when a conservative Republican from South Carolina could say of my father: “If you can’t admire Joe Biden as a person, you’ve got a problem. He’s the nicest person I’ve ever met in politics. As good a man as God ever created.”
That is the Senator Graham I will remember today. Not because I have forgotten what came after. Because in that memory there is hope. Hope for a country where brothers can fight like hell over policy and still share a meal, and a laugh, and the loss of the people they love.
I will choose to remember the time before Trump. Because I believe in an America after Trump.
