Stockport Council commissioned CCNW to undertake riverbank stabilisation works on the eroded banking along the Ladybrook Valley. A part of the Happy Valley Local Nature Reserve (LNR) and a Site of Biological Importance (SBI).
The CCNW team was appointed for the wetland creation at Mill Dam Park together with a series of woodland and pond enhancement projects aligned with Biodiversity Net Gain on behalf of @MerseyRivers Trust.
Natural England purchased a 154-ha lowland peat farm and buildings (Moss Side Farm), which secures a peat-based land holding as part of a wider 1000-ha proposed National Nature reserve.

West Lancashire District Council commissioned CCNW to carry out improvements to the access and infrastructure within Elmer’s Clough by re-profiling the existing footpath that runs through Elmer’s Clough.
The specialist CCNW team has completed another project on behalf of Natural England.
A series of rewetting and restoration works were carried out on Astley and Bedford Mosses, an SSSI-designated lowland raised bog.
The work aimed to improve the bog habitat's hydrology by blocking internal surface ditches, clearing overgrown scrub from the site and creating water retaining bunds to raise water levels and promote the growth of bog vegetation.
As part of our commitment to preserving and protecting the environment, we are delighted to confirm that Conservation Contracts North West has been assessed and certified to the Environmental Management Standard ISO 14001.
We recognise that this is part of an ongoing journey, lessening the impact of our activities and working to improve the quality of habitats and biodiversity.
