"The family would love to get a bench with a plaque at Diefenbaker Park in memory of their dad, David Ho. David lost his way on one of his routine walks to the park on November 1st, 2023 and was found deceased on November 4th." 🤍https://t.co/bJxHcniqi5
Former NHL player (and friend of mine) Raymond Sawada tragically passed away yesterday while playing hockey.
Praying for the repose of Raymond’s soul and for the entire Sawada family.
If you would like to support the Sawada family, you can do so here: https://t.co/uv9L9Ual2P
This is entirely unsurprising when there are no standards set out for this work.
There are EAs working right now in classrooms in #bced that have had zero practicum experience with students with disabilities. How many? Hard to know.

"The Sumas Lake, whose original name is Semá:th Lake, was drained in the 1920s to create and irrigate new farmland in the Fraser Valley. The Sumas Prairie then became home to about 3,000 people, while Sumas First Nation members were pushed onto a reserve."
I am thrilled to share with you my @MensHealthMag debut, which delves into the rise of MSG as a culinary miracle ingredient, the insidious, racist myth making that led to its fall from grace, and the boring truth about how it really works.

Nov 8 is Aboriginal Veteran's Day. Did you know Indigenous Vets were not allowed to lay a wreath on their own behave at the National War monument until 1996? Engage, reach out and tell our veterans they are enough and Canada supports what they did for everyone.
I’m grateful to have the support of everyone at @hometownhockey_ who encouraged me say what was in my heart last night.
Some thoughts on the NHL’s broken culture.
Such an unusual and disturbing sight. Endless refrigerators litter a beach near #CapeScott on northern #VancouverIsland. They came from containers that fell off #ZimKingston. Local First Nation has joined a contractor to remove them. @CHEK_News
Kyle Beach — John Doe — apologized. It's hard to fathom. It was gut-wrenching and agonizing and even infuriating to watch.
It also showed more courage and humanity than any of the feckless men who failed him.

So you want to be an ally when talking about residential schools?
Here are some tips:
- Call them “extermination camps for indigenous children,” rather than “residential schools.”
- Refrain from saying children were abused in those schools, the legal term would be torture.
🌿You will have passed many Vancouver houses like Sandy's, covered with plants and veggies from gourds to ginseng, beans to bitter melons.
On the special, neglected role that immigrant growers play in our green city. @TheTyee
