Stores are selling the snack sized candies that many people give out during Halloween for 85 cents each

This used to be what a full size candy car cost not that long ago

One Reece’s cup is 85 cents, one tiny KitKat and Hersheys snack sized candies are both 85 cents

Stop buying it

Candy prices in the US have risen toughly 56% just since 2016 according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Easter baskets rose 58–78% since 2020–2021

Halloween is even worse. Halloween candy prices have risen about 78% just since 2020

A typical 100 piece bag of Halloween candy that would have only cost just $9 in 2020 averaged about $16.40 in 2025… thats a 78% price increase far outpacing inflation
