@GlennAlanBerry @jfpoole It's a windows limitation - 64 logical cores per processor group.
We were trying for a single numa node 128 core EYPC test, but no dice
@JadekMenaheim @CCP_Convict These lasers dealt no death i'm afraid :( When I cracked open the station hangar the dust was thick, no one had looked in on small army's worth of guns in many years
@CCP_Explorer our CPU graphs look much nicer now vs. the previous Friday's. Down from 50% to 20% and a much quicker leveling off as the simulation loads.
Across the board, we're seeing amazing reductions in wait times and IO latency. Lots more to be detailed in our upcoming Dev Blog
@CCP_Explorer It was a glorious day indeed! 199 seconds from shutdown starting at 11:00:00 to the very first character logged in
And we still have lots of tweaking to do on these machines and the SAN - records will continue to be broken in the coming weeks!
@flessuhh While I rarely get to use it in production, there is DB proc that is special to my heart - ClusterShutdown!
Sometimes though, the DB does spiral out of control on weird starts - This requires us to put it out of its misery, for the greater good
@chribba@CCP_Explorer We did this a few times many years ago, I think they were sol servers from when we switched data centers for TQ Tech III.
Surprised you didn't get one - or yer just looking to add to the collection? :)
@Fuzzysteve It has less cores than the EPYC we tested but more memory!
Intel based, dual socket/2 numa nodes and very very fast san ports
More details in upcoming devblog
