🔥 The Greatest Metal Songs 🔥
🔴 Position 131:
💎 Megadeth - Tornado of souls
📀 Rust In Peace
🌎 USA 🇺🇸 - 1990
📌 "Tornado of Souls" is one of those rare thrash metal songs that feels perfect from beginning to end. While Rust in Peace is packed with classics, this track stands out thanks to its emotional lyrics, unforgettable riffs, and one of the greatest guitar solos ever recorded.
➡️ The song was inspired by Dave Mustaine's painful breakup, and that personal emotion gives it a depth that goes beyond speed and aggression.
🎼 The verses build tension with sharp, precise riffs before exploding into a powerful chorus that's impossible not to sing along with.
🎙️ Dave's vocals sound angry, frustrated, and determined, perfectly matching the theme of escaping a toxic relationship.
🎸 Every member of the band is at the top of their game, but Marty Friedman's legendary solo is what elevates the song into metal history. It's not just technically brilliant; it's incredibly melodic and emotional, telling its own story without a single word.
👌 More than 35 years after its release, "Tornado of Souls" remains a fan favorite and a live staple, often considered one of Megadeth's defining songs. It's the kind of track that reminds you why Rust in Peace is regarded as one of the greatest thrash metal albums ever made.
Rating: 9.5/10 – A flawless thrash metal masterpiece with one of the most iconic guitar solos of all time.
🔥 The Greatest Metal Songs 🔥
🔴 Position 134:
💎 Death - Symbolic
📀 Symbolic
🌎 USA 🇺🇸 - 1995
📌 "Symbolic" is one of those songs that reminds you why Chuck Schuldiner is still considered one of the greatest minds in metal.
🎼 From the opening riff, it grabs your attention with an incredible mix of aggression, melody, and emotion. It's heavy without being overwhelming, technical without feeling like it's showing off, and every second feels purposeful.
👌 What makes this song so special is its atmosphere. There's a sense of reflection and melancholy running through the entire track, making it much more than just another death metal anthem.
📜 The lyrics explore the loss of innocence and the struggle to hold onto what truly matters in life, giving the song a depth that sticks with you long after it ends.
🎙️ Chuck's vocals are intense yet surprisingly expressive, while the guitar work is simply unforgettable. The riffs are instantly memorable, the solos are emotional rather than just flashy, and the rhythm section keeps everything moving with incredible energy. Every listen reveals another small detail you may have missed before.
✅ For many fans, "Symbolic" isn't just one of Death's greatest songs; it's one of the greatest songs ever written in death metal. It perfectly balances brutality, melody, intelligence, and heart, showing how emotionally powerful extreme metal can be. Even after countless listens, it never loses its impact.

It's a timeless masterpiece and one of the defining songs of the entire genre.
⚠️ Important ⚠️
Before we begin the Top 100 Thrash Metal Albums, I'd like to say something. Just like with the previous 400 rankings, these placements are nothing more than my personal opinion. I'm not Rolling Stone or Loudwire. I'm just a metal fan who one day decided to listen to every album listed on Rate Your Music.
Those roughly 5,500 albums you see for each genre—I listened to every single one of them. Of course, not all the way through for obvious reasons; there simply isn't enough time in a lifetime. I created my own system, along with a specific workflow, to get through them as efficiently as possible, and I managed to do it in just two and a half years.
Everything you see here is the result of pure dedication to bring you something that simply didn't exist before: massive metal rankings presented by someone who has actually listened to the music they're writing about.
I could go on for much longer and explain every detail. As many of you already know, I could probably write a book—I have a knack for writing. I hope you enjoy the rankings, and as always, don't send me hate. It doesn't bother me at all, but once we get to the higher positions, I'm sure I'll hear every possible opinion, because it's impossible to please everyone.
A big thank you to all of you, and thanks so much for taking the time to read my work.

Ozzy was fully involved with the book and he signed the book plates months before the final show, as did all the band members. So now, we all thought the time was right, one year after Back to the Beginning, to announce the project. A book we all feel celebrates bothBlack Sabbath and Ozzy and illustrates just how important they are. I hope fans enjoy it."

☠️ The 500 Best Death Metal Albums ☠️
🔴 Position 380:
📀 Obituary - Frozen In Time
🌎 USA 🇺🇸 - 2005
💿 Roadrunner Records
➡️ After an eight-year absence, Frozen in Time marked Obituary's return with a clear statement: they had no interest in reinventing themselves.
📌 Instead, they doubled down on the swampy, crushing death metal that made them legends in the early '90s. Rather than chasing trends, the band embraced their roots, delivering an album built on massive grooves, down-tuned riffs, and the unmistakable growl of John Tardy.
🔝 From the opening instrumental "Redneck Stomp," the record establishes a heavy, bulldozing atmosphere that rarely lets up. Allen West and Trevor Peres lock into thick, simple, and incredibly effective riffs, while Donald Tardy's drumming keeps everything pounding with relentless force.
🎛️ The production is clean enough to give every instrument weight without sacrificing the raw, old-school spirit that defines Obituary.
👌 Songs like "On the Floor," "Insane," "Stand Alone," and "Lockjaw" stand out as highlights, balancing groove with bursts of aggression.
✅ The album isn't flashy or technical; it succeeds because it understands the power of repetition, atmosphere, and sheer heaviness.
❗ That said, listeners looking for constant variation may find parts of the record somewhat repetitive, as Obituary deliberately sticks to its signature formula throughout.
🔥 What makes Frozen in Time so satisfying is its confidence. Obituary never tries to prove they can outplay younger bands or modernize their sound.
⏳ They simply deliver 34 minutes of uncompromising Florida death metal, reminding everyone why they were pioneers in the first place.
‼️ It's not as groundbreaking as Cause of Death or Slowly We Rot, but it's one of the strongest comeback albums in Death Metal; a focused, heavy, and honest record that feels timeless rather than outdated.
