heโs still going to be one of the smartest players in basketball as well as one of the best shooters. having a quick first step is big but i donโt think the injury will hinder him too much
obviously the pacers success next season will be contingent on what kind of player hali is upon his return, but im confident in a good season if heโs even 75% of what he was pre-injury. i suspect heโll return fine because he was never very dependent on athleticism or burst anyway
fans are desperate to find the โnext jalen brunsonโ but guys like nembhard are just as much of winning players who can support a championship team. this is one of the reasons that im not worried about the pacers more or less running it back with minimal changes.
nembhard was never gonna breakout and become some all-star caliber lead guard as some fans had hoped for last season, but heโs still a very good player. heโs a great secondary ball-handler and pairs well with hali and siakam, and im more excited to watch him play this season.
