In Ms. Ewert's ML Class at Wando, Newcomer Ss presented about themselves. In addition, they interviewed 'Shorty', our 7-foot-tall security manager from Belarus on topics such as immigration, bilingualism, and acculturation/culture shock. We all learned so much!

39 uninsured and underinsured ML students received free vaccinations through CCSD’s partnership with MUSC Cares Clinic on July 22, 2023. A special thanks goes out to Staples who provided back to school donations of school supplies.

Dr. Baez along with CCSD educators attended the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion conference from Charleston Chamber of Commerce. CCSD staff learned of initiatives for creating inclusive work environments and joined with businesses to create partnerships that will benefit ML students

MSO parent advocate Magaly Torres supported the registration event at Mt. Zion which provided parents with registration assistance, a box of groceries, and a bag of fresh produce from Lowcountry Foodbank. The kids that attended got free books and games from the local library!

The Office Multilingual Services and Outreach Services (MSO) in partnership with Operation Home, a nonprofit organization that helps build strong, stable, and secure military families, has provided over 30 AC units to CCSD families in need this summer!
