A drawing for a carry-out pizza will be held for students who complete the learning menu by Friday, April 3rd. Send a message to your teacher letting them know which activities you completed!
Excellent guidance from @MOEducation. The most important thing schools can do is to connect with students. This is the perfect time for flexibility and authentic learning with a heavy dose of relationship.
When I started teaching secondary math in ‘96, I thought elementary teachers’ role in mathematics was somehow less important than mine. Now I know theirs is actually more critical. TY elem teachers for building the foundation that makes future math success even a possibility!
Was asked today by a friend about my rationale for FULL CREDIT on a retake. I said... well, what is the PURPOSE of your assessment? To see what they learned or to collect points? If you average or give less than what they earned which are you doing?
We don’t need our teachers to be the most talented, the most innovative, or the most tech savvy. We need them to care about kids… work well with their colleagues… and come to work every day, excited about making a difference.
@MNmMath We were just talking about this at our school. The kids beg to have paper pencil assessments again. I agree with you and feel our scores would be so much better.
@Sarah3Martin I definitely base the culture of my classroom on these rights! It takes a lot of work to get Ss to understand that confusion and mistakes leads to learning and we need to give those moments light.
