Calling Dylan Larkin soft and a 'quitter' is the most laughable thing to come out of his trade request. Does anyone realize what an agonizingly difficult decision he had to make? Captain of an iconic franchise, hometown kid, entire family here, played all of his hockey here. He saw what happened to #91. He knows what's coming. Nothing 'soft' about staring all that in the face and saying that winning a Stanley Cup means more than all of that.
Wanting to move on from failure isn't 'quitting'. It's admitting he couldn't get it done here and wanting to try a new path. In doing so, he's made it more difficult on himself, and his Michigan family, not easier.
Soft would be to stay, watch his career pass by in futility, and get sh*t talked anyway.
All any of them want to do is skate with the Stanley Cup over their head after the last game of the season. If you don't understand him asking out, then you don't understand why they play the game.
There was no better feeling than taking a roadie to Flint to hit Perani’s in the early and mid 2000s. I’ll never forget the time I convinced my parents to get me a Mission M1 and a CCM Vector approx 2004. Hell of a negotiation by the kid.
Had to be there. End of an era.
