I have a habit of getting super into shows right before they turn bad. Even so the absolute crap finale of Run tonight was a new low. While not all of them needed to be as amazing as #1-6 (binged starting last Monday night) surely #7 being halfway decent wasn’t too much to ask?
12. Kofta m’anoush and a crapton of labne at Anoush’ella - less than five miles away, but seems almost as distant as these others right now. But when our moratorium on takeout ends this is the first thing I’m getting.
Like many I often combine two quarantine pastimes: indulging in nostalgia and thinking about food. Most foods here aren’t the tastiest I’ve ever had or hard to recreate as food. But the choices they represent are pretty comforting right now. Chrono by place of residence (mostly)
11. The mango chutney served with all the curries at IAS - I don’t even remember the specifics of the nearly always veggie curries that much except to remember that curry on the menu made for a must-go-to-Dining Hall day.
@MFDiBella Yes, for me “rap-rock” of that era tends to be synonymous with “rap I like mixed with rock I definitely don’t,” but that’s a rare totally enjoyable track for me.
Because I apparently live to rank and provide commentary on eight things at a time here are my favorite Teenage Fanclub-only-the-Gerry-Love-ones ranked
1. Don’t Look Back (one of my favorite songs ever, with the pared down version on Have Lost It my favorite of favorites)
7. Discolite (but who am I kidding, of course I’m taking another precious spot for another Grand Prix track; no shame in being the third best GL song on that album)
8. Time Stops (Gerry contemplating middle age in such a lovely way; even lovelier than late night twitter listing)
6. Near You (Howdy is the last TFC album that I figuratively wore out from just playing it over and over when it originally came out; spots are running out and I feel like I can’t choose more than one Howdy here; this probably just edges out I Need Direction)
