NEWS ALERT: Monday, May 25 our churches will reopen in the Diocese of Brownsville. Here is the letter from @bpdflores addressed to the faithful of the diocese announcing the reopening and outlining the protocols which should be followed as we proceed.
Today we want to give a shout out to priests and their camera crews, especially the many young adults behind-the-scenes in our diocese, who have assisted their parishes through Lent, the Paschal Triduum, and Eastertide. THANK YOU! 😇
Cathedral tonight, after the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. With the altar stripped and the candles and flowers removed.
The consecrated building itself, in some ways, passes through these days for us.
#PopeFrancis will impart a special blessing to the world tomorrow (6pm Rome time, 1pm EDT, 12pm CDT, 11am MDT, and 10am PDT) in this time of the #coronavirus pandemic. The prayer and blessing will be broadcast by @VaticanNews on their website. #PrayTogether
Will you join as one Church tomorrow on the Feast of the Annunciation (March 25th) in lifting our voices to Our Heavenly Father? Prayer time is early at 6 am CST. You can also pray at noon! 🙏🏽
“Show us who you are,

Coronavirus concerns are closing the doors to Catholic churches. KRGV has teamed up with the Diocese of Brownsville to broadcast the mass LIVE this Sunday on Somos el Valle, ch 5.2, cable 1240. 🙏 We are all in this together! 🙌
In a proactive response to the general precautionary actions in our area and in alignment w/the current measures being taken by our diocese, we are cancelling the Lenten Retreat for young adults. Thank you for understanding, stay safe, and have a prayerful Lent wherever you are.
We invite you to a mid-Lenten season overnight retreat at the Benedictine Monastery!
We hope you'll join us! #Lent2020

Ash Wednesday Mass, Brownsville campus of UTRGV & TSC:
El “por qué” de la Cuaresma es más importante que el “qué” que hacemos.
Haz algo bueno en secreto, por el amor de Dios.
The "why" of Lent is more important than the "what".
Do something good in secret, for the love of God.
“Into the Ordinary” One-Day Retreat:
As we get ready to enter into a new liturgical season, Ordinary Time, we spent yesterday reflecting on the beauty of our ordinary lives, our call to holiness, and how we can be better disciples. Thank you to all who joined us!
We're really looking forward to having the "Fire on Father" Q&A w/Fr. Agustino Torres. Submit your questions below. We hope to see you tomorrow!
