The rain began in earnest a couple of hours later and is forecast to continue for a few days on the Emerald Isle so the brown/firm conditions may well be missing for a while. Kudos to @alanhammond_ and his team for having the course in such great condition.

- @mikeclaytongolf on the Bell Hole, the 15th at Appleby. 176 yards of terror and fun as one tries to find a bathtub green from the other side of Hilton Beck, a beautiful, meandering stream.

Having seen it one evening, Clayts insisted on returning next day for another examination, even asking committee member Ray Cousin to stand on the foregreen with a flag to see whether his idea for a front section of the green made sense.

Work has commenced at our first new build in Europe at Club de Golf Val de Rois in Galicia, NW Spain, where Gonzalo and the team are staking out the routing.

The first two photos are of the 10th and its green site, the other of the 18th.
