I hope the economists here forgive me for not throwing in general equilibrium. To make it accessible for non-economists, I restrict the content to very intuitive concepts.
I published a #blog post on #housing#affordability: https://t.co/zCtByFFoXJ. It aims to create a better intuition of how the housing market works. The post uses simple, non-technical language to communicate the topic to a broad audience.
My new R package cppcontainers is now on CRAN: https://t.co/PXuiXtJmt3. C++ STL containers in R. The package's vignette states its motivation: https://t.co/Y3xFluOQlE. It is my most quickly developed and most widely applicable package so far. #rstats#cpp#datascience
I am on the Job Market! Thanks to my advisors @essobecker @PaulRaschky and friends at @TheRealSodaLabs.
My JMP studies the effects of a large-scale colonial resettlement program in Malaysia on contemporary economic and voting outcomes.

I am happy to announce that my wife and I will move to Australia. I will join @MonashUni 's @TheRealSodaLabs as postdoctoral research fellow this September. Combining tech and economics to examine unconventional data sets, this position is exactly what I have been looking for.
Finishing up my dissertation, I wrote a tool to clean up bibtex files. Not managing my bibtex files through citation software, I find this tool pretty handy. https://t.co/seyB4O7xCP #latex#bibtex#academicpublication#research#phd#cpp#code
@j_barrutia 8 GB RAM is very little for geo-spatial computations. You can play around with conleyreg's performance parameters, trying to lower the RAM use. However, running any GIS code, not just conleyreg, on such small RAM will be a challenge. I recommend briefly renting a cloud server.
Major conleyreg update available on GitHub (https://t.co/TP1AJVFhtc). Includes heavy computational optimization, pre-computable distance matrices, an additional econometric model, customizable RAM optimization, alternative outputs etc. #RStats#EconTwitter 1/2
I am happy to announce the publication of my spaths package's latest version: https://t.co/xEnQU4KJbj. The software computes shortest paths in gridded data. It is heavily computationally optimized and customizable. #RStats#Cpp#GraphTheory#GIS#EconTwitter 1/5
For now, spaths focuses on Dijkstra's algorithm. Future updates will broaden the scope. I aim to make the package a general graph-theoretical tool targeting gridded inputs. Other shortest path algorithms and centrality measures are next on the list. 5/5

So, I eventually decided to write an implementation of graph theory tailored to gridded data in C++ myself and to build an R package based on it. spaths 1.1.0 is the result. It cuts weeks of execution time to hours. The package should also be available on CRAN soon. 4/5
Thank you so much, @EEANews, for organizing a mock job market interview. I am deeply grateful to all three professors who attended and provided me with many comments. This was increadibly helpful. Thank you.
I've posted my annual lists of trade JMPs and spatial JMPs.
Thanks to those who made my life easier. 17 (of 37) JMCs replied to my trade tweet and 33 (of 58) JMCs replied to my spatial tweet.
Rules of origin are hot this year: three JMPs on the subject!
