The @CityofAtlanta and @ATLWatershed teams are working hard and nonstop to repair the water main breaks impacting you. We apologize for the disruption over the past day & assure you we will have updates as they become available.
Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the transition of our relative and friend, Maceo Brown. He was founder and CEO of System 5 Electronics. He slipped away yesterday surrounded by family. He provided the alarm monitoring for our ministry complimentary for several years. He mentored many young people and taught them invaluable life skills. He leaves his wife, Alicia, and a host of family and friends to mourn his death. He was a champion. I visited him a few weeks ago and he was in incredible spirit and looking towards the future. 🙏🏾❤️ I celebrate his amazing life!
We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Bro. Thomas "Tommy" Dortch, Jr. ('79 ΗΩ) - a true champion for the Black community. His dedication to mentoring, education, & political empowerment will continue to inspire us all. #RIPTommyDortch
Thank you @SenatorWarnock and @ossoff for making sure healthcare subsidies were extended. We need to make them permanent so thousands of Georgians won’t lose their insurance. We appreciate your help!
My sincerest condolences to the family of Senator Johnny Isakson. He was a good man, a true statesman and a friend in the truest sense of the word. Rest in Peace.
It is with deep sorrow that The Isakson Initiative shares that former U.S. Senator Johnny Isakson passed away overnight on December 19, 2021, at age 76.
Sen. Isakson’s family is grateful for the prayers and support.
Funeral arrangements will be shared when finalized.

Prayers for the family of the venerable Vernon Jordan. An Atlanta native and grad of David T Howard High School, he was a global inspiration for those who committed to serve and dared to be great. "Vernon Can Read" must be required reading for every ATL kid. Rest well mighty oak!
Some have asked where they can read more of these narratives from formerly enslaved people. Fortunately, the Library of Congress has digitized them all. It’s really a remarkable resource.

This piece is part of @TheAtlantic’s INHERITANCE, an ongoing project committed to collecting, preserving, and unearthing the stories of Black life in America. We’ll have many more stories coming through this series in the days, weeks, and months to come.

Between 1936 and 1938, the federal government collected the narratives of over 2,300 formerly enslaved people. I tracked down the descendants of people who were interviewed and wrote about what these stories mean to them, and what they mean to our country. https://t.co/1TlAYWYdBR
I just listened to @drcoopmd@Thegooddrdave. Takeway: There is no brand more valuable than our OWN brand. Just like we spend money on other's brands (i.e. designer clothes, cars, etc.) we should also invest a solid personal health strategy with a top notch health partner!
Wow. Big disconnect here. Kids are not in a daily quarantine away from school. And it's impossible to stop kids from sneezing, coughing and touching things while in school...
