So proud to finally have our report on service needs amongst kids in out-of-home care published. The perennially wonderful Ilan Katz and Marilyn McHugh are a great team to work with. @SPRC_UNSW@facsnsw

Big Boomer Energy is demanding you get rid of your stuff out of their house because they have "no space" when they have 3 spare bedrooms, 2 sheds and a home office with a filing cabinet exclusively for electricity bills from 1997.
Thread.
There were really good answers to the tweet suggesting that "algorithms can't be racist because they are math", so I made a top 10.

@renvettoretto Others might be scared to look outside their world whereas that's specifically what we are interested in. Don't be bothered about those critics, you'll find the right people to work with.
Other quant researchers criticise and underestimate me as a quant working in humanities. But critics don't realise how amazing it is to work together to understand complexity from multiple angles. Maybe they aren't interested in humanity at all.
@Tableau 's new tool Prep is such a game changer for my work. It's the first tool in which my estimate of how long my complex data takes to prepare for analysis is close to how long it actually takes because it's easy to see calculation results and catch errors in real time.

@JennyBryan I think I made this after one of @rdpeng's posts on @simplystats earlier this year (May, to be specific thanks, image metadata). The coins are imaginary academic props, I guess… ¯\(°_o)/¯
@TableauSupport hey just want to shout out to Samantha K who has been extremely helpful despite us not fixing my issue yet. If you know her, tell her she does good work.
@TableauSupport They are on a network drive for security reasons and nobody else opened the files because only three of us have permission to access. But thanks for tips. I might need a refund if I cant store files securely.
@TableauSupport my first Tableau Prep files are apparently corrupted (support advised) after sitting idle for 2 wks. This is such a bad start with Prep and I'm very worried about using it again to remake files - it's an important project. Any tips to avoid corrupting files?
