Hours before a terrorist attack on a Jewish gathering in Sydney, Ahmad Ghadiri Abyaneh, the son of a former Iranian regime ambassador, posted openly antisemitic content, calling Hanukkah “satanic” and invoking Ali Khamenei’s call for “spiritual defense.”

This is not coincidence. It is ideology in action.
The word “satanic” is the same word the leader of the Islamic Republic and his supporters used years ago to describe Salman Rushdie’s book. What was the result? Incitement to murder, the issuing of a fatwa, and an attempted assassination of a writer beyond Iran’s borders. Hate speech, when it comes from a position of power, does not remain rhetorical. It turns into real violence.
When the child of a regime diplomat spreads incitement just before violence erupts, the link between the Islamic Republic’s worldview and terrorist attacks is undeniable. Iran exports hatred through its officials, their families, and its embassies.

The same Iranian officials and their children have repeatedly declared that the White House should be turned into a mosque. Despite the existence of hundreds of mosques in the United States, they stage performative Friday prayers in Times Square. In Australia, they shut down streets for their own religious displays, yet issue calls to rise up against Jewish religious celebrations on those very same streets.

A regime that normalizes antisemitism and sanctifies violence is a threat to free societies. Its diplomatic missions are not embassies. They are hubs of extremism. They should be shut down.
