@AndrewBarnas In your dismissal of anecdotal evidence. Data points aren’t the only kind of data, and when language is potentially harmful, exclusionary, or simply not the most accurate term, humans aren’t outliers. Social science is able to appreciate a single lived experience (unlike you)
@AndrewBarnas Actually, when the premise of your discourse is deeply disrespectful, I don’t think you’re owed any respect in response. And since you want to make this about “science” (even though I’m sure it’s not) you’ve shown a clear lack of understanding of any tenets of social science
@ChelseaHerps Love that everyone is trying to dunk on “community science” as the alternative, as if it’s a gotcha that makes “citizen science” better, meanwhile we’re just over here using “participatory science” or “participatory community science” bc actually you can be thoughtful and clear
This Podcast always has, and always will stand with our #lgbtqcommunity. #science is better when a diversity of voices can be heard. We understand the world better when we work together. The future must include space in science for people of all cultures. #embraceequality
