UPDATE 6:20pm: While officers were assisting with the flooding, an officer observed an altercation and approached those involved. The suspect took off running and after searching the area, it was discovered there was no threat to the public.

Police and Fire are deployed in the north end of town working to alleviate the flooding situation due to the recent storm. Stay clear of the area & public right of way if possible to give them space to work. Call 911 for emergency.

Cedar City Fire Department is on scene of a brush fire on the south side of the I-15 freeway near Exit 62 on the north end of town by Maverick. Fire is under control and burned approx. 1/2 acre due to the wind gusts, with 10 -15 ft flames upon initial arrival. Avoid the area.
