@madebygoogle I've tried various things: force-stopping the Google app, clearing the cache and storage, restarting the smartphone... nothing works..do you have any other ideas?
Everything is enabled in the Gemini app (see screenshot below). There's only one language option on the entire phone

Apparently, this is a recurring problem on the forums...
