The Tanga Hub, together with Uganda’s Hoima Refinery, will ensure that our petroleum resources create more value through refining, storage, logistics and manufacturing instead of exporting raw materials. This is the Pan-African approach, working together to create prosperity for our people.

Today in Dar es Salaam, together with H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, I witnessed the signing of an MoU between Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC), the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) and Vitol Bahrain E.C. to develop the Tanga Regional Energy Hub.

Uganda and Tanzania have enjoyed excellent relations over the years, founded on our common history, Pan-African ideals, and commitment to regional integration. I look forward to productive engagements that will further strengthen our cooperation for the prosperity of our two countries and the East African region.

It was a great honor to be Chief Guest at St. Jude Family Projects Agro-Ecological Centre of Excellence in Busense, Masaka City.

The Centre is supported by our partners from Germany through URREP. My sincere thank you to the founders, administration, staff, and donors for this great initiative in Masaka City.

Today, over 200 young people graduated with practical skills in agriculture — poultry, piggery, fisheries, and crop farming — as well as electrical engineering, plumbing, building, and other vocational trades.

To support them to start, I gave UGX 1,000,000 in start-up capital to the 4 best performers in each discipline.

I also want to specially recognize a mother who stood by her 16-year-old daughter. When her daughter got pregnant at 16, this mother did not give up on her. Instead, she took responsibility and enrolled her daughter for skilling at St. Jude so she could get a second chance at life.
In appreciation of that courage and love, I gifted the mother UGX 500,000. I also gave the young mother UGX 1,000,000 in start-up capital to begin her journey. Her little brother, who is 4 years old and the baby’s “uncle,” also received a packet of sweets. 🤗🤣

As a Woman MP for Masaka City and Minister of State for Local Government, I remain committed to showing up for my constituents and still execute my duties as Minister🙏

Today, I joined the Bayimba Foundation and partners at Lunkulu Island in Buikwe District for the official flag off of the 18th edition of the Bayimba Festival of the Arts.

The creative economy continues to prove that it is more than entertainment. It is a catalyst for innovation, employment, cultural preservation, and economic growth. Through initiatives that equip young people with practical skills, such as filmmaking training for young girls in Buikwe, Bayimba is helping unlock the immense potential within our communities.

I commend the Bayimba Foundation, its partners, sponsors, and all the artists whose passion and commitment continue to grow Uganda’s creative industry while inspiring the next generation of creatives.

I was honoured to officially flag off this year’s festival and encourage everyone to join us in celebrating the richness of Uganda’s culture, creativity, and talent.

As I celebrate another year of God's abundant grace and faithfulness, I am humbled by His unfailing love and mercy throughout my life's journey.

Yesterday, we held a thanksgiving ceremony in honor of Hon. Sam Kutesa's inspirational service and outstanding contributions to Sembabule District.

We are deeply humbled by the love, goodwill, and unwavering support that the people of Sembabule continue to show him.

In recognition of his remarkable contributions to Sembabule District and Uganda, the District Council and leadership dedicated a street and the District Administration Block in his name.

May his passionate service to his people and to our country continue to inspire us all to work towards the transformation and prosperity of our people and our nation.

I congratulate Kisha and Aaron Kafureeka upon their Okuhingira and convey greetings from Maama Janet.

I reminded the couple that marriage is for two people. Build your home on friendship and do not allow unnecessary interference. I was pleased to note that the people here have embraced our message of wealth creation. With resources such as River Rwizi feeding Lake Kakyera, there is great potential for commercial agriculture through irrigation.

I also paid tribute to our freedom fighters, the late Kaboyo and Kafureeka, for their contribution to Uganda’s liberation, and I congratulate Alice for the commendable job of raising her family. I wish the couple God’s blessings as they begin this new chapter together. On a lighter note, I told the Bevugi that I will return to teach them how to Kwevuga.

I concluded my day at State House Entebbe by welcoming H.E. Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
We discussed regional peace, security, and cooperation ahead of tomorrow’s Extraordinary Summit of the Troop Contributing Countries to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). I reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to supporting a stable, united, and prosperous Somalia because peace in Somalia is important for the stability of our region.
