DRILLING OF SENATE-GSIS DOORS EXPLAINED
DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla said that the Senate maintenance management had already been informed that there would be drilling and fortification of doors leading to the GSIS building on May 13 as part of maintenance operations.
Remulla added that the GSIS President Wick Veloso ordered the complex to be secured with help from the NBI to protect the artworks inside the building in case unrest broke out, following Sen. Bato dela Rosa’s call for a “people power movement” in his live stream.
“Had there been anarchy in the building, the GSIS contains billions of pesos worth of artworks that are displayed on their walls. Had there been an overflow of people going to GSIS, the losses would have been incredible. So he found it better for them to secure the doors so there would be no commotion going to the GSIS building,” Remulla said. | 📸: RTVM

Why would the senators call NBI to secure them first, when the PNP is right outside the Senate building? According to our reporter, the PNP was not even allowed to go in when shots were heard.
PANOORIN: Sapul sa body-worn cameras ng NBI ang insidente nang paputukan sila habang nasa gusali ng GSIS noong Miyerkules.
