In the dramatic circumstances of war, information must guard against the risk of turning into propaganda. It is every journalist's duty to verify the news, so as not to become a megaphone for power. They must show the suffering that war always brings to populations, which entails showing the face of war and recounting it through the eyes of victims.

BREAKING: In a stunning moment, French President Emmanuel Macron just delivered the most powerful rebuke of Donald Trump we've seen yet. This is incredible.
Carney: "American hegemony in particular helped provide public goods, open sea lanes, a stable financial system, collective security ... this bargain no longer works. Let me be direct. We are in the midst of a rupture, not a transition ... recently, great powers have begun using economic integration as a weapon. Tariffs as leverage ... "

Here’s the BBC’s statement:
Even een draadje over de Lentekriebels, want het conservatieve smaldeel van Nederland is alweer druk bezig met bashen en demoniseren. En dat is gevaarlijk, want kennis en weerbaarheid zijn essentieel #Lentekriebels
“Canada isn’t a real country”
“Ukraine isn’t a real country”
Remember, these false narratives are being pushed by the very same people that told us over and over again that the sovereignty of nations was more important than anything else in the world.
Witkoff, the main negotiator of the ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia, decided to have a chat with pro-Russia shill Tucker Carlson. This is embarrassing on so many levels - let's break them down:
- Witkoff can't even remember the names of the Ukrainian oblasts (Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Crimea) that Putin wants.
- He then uses the Russian name (Lugansk) for one of them.
- He cites a sham vote organized by the FSB as "evidence" that people in these regions want to join Russia.
- Witkoff also fails to mention that Russia doesn't even have full de facto control of these regions.
It's deeply concerning that someone who is supposed to be a neutral negotiator between two warring countries is siding with the aggressor and spreading their propaganda.
