@jessphillips Before a certain age, it is fairly common not to have a ton of personal or social power, listening to music out loud on the train (maybe in part because you don’t have good headphones) takes up space in a way that is relatively harmless

Did you notice I asked what *we* can do? We're all in this together, whether we want to be or not.

I would choose more pain or discomfort now, rather than more later. But a simpler, lower footprint life doesn't necessitate more pain or discomfort.
