@RWTNews@JoJoFromJerz Only just over half the people rejected the left in this one election- and I read plenty of “I’m holding my nose to vote Trump because of one issue” which doesn’t really count as a full rejection of the left. So, congrats on winning this round, but keep some perspective
@WalshFreedom This sounds like a woman with some serious mental illness who somehow had a sister and son sufficiently isolated and under her control that she was able to bring them along into her delusional world. No rational person would regard this as a feasible survival plan.
@Therealcolonel5@johncusack It's not just actors. It's about the value of labor and changing technology. This issue affects everyone in every business. The problems are complex, like getting an engineering degree.
@Therealcolonel5@johncusack You say that like anyone who feels like it has the aptitude and resources to get a degree in engineering. It's really hard and only a fraction of people have the necessary ability.
@aaronpalmer @Richard_G_Scott @johncusack Yep,that's how unmanaged capitalism works in favor of the we end up with minimum wages that don't cover the grocery bills, much less rent. Then, eventually, usually, the workers are desperate, and the rich are overthrown one way or another.
@RealRonHoward I think you look pensive. Contemplating all those kids injured in the course of commemorating our nation's independence, itself a process that involved a lot of bloodshed. You must have been a deep, contemplative child.
Or you were bored. :)
@senntils @BBCWorld But these observations cane from hikers? Why would they ne suggesting that the entire mountain is unstable, whatever that even means? Obviously they are talking about the conditions of the surface on which they are hiking! And don't patronize me. You're the one misreading this
@Veritas_Curat7@CandiceMTurner@GeorgeTakei To be fair, everyone pays taxes to support schools, and THIS is fair because the knowledge, skills and values of today's children will affect us all for years to come. What we teach children about gay people will certainly affect gay people. It's public education.
@heyjiajohnson @filarete_brand@ProjectLincoln Or it's the only work they can get, and it's valuable honest work. But never mind that. You know what's good for business? A strong middle class that can afford to buy things. Raising minimum wages helps almost everyone. Only the very wealthiest are better off today.
@TreeTherapeutic @masonmennenga Also, if sharing the same religion creates a strong and unified society... I was recently in a Southern town of some 50,000 residents that had over a hundred Baptist churches. Explain.
@TreeTherapeutic @masonmennenga This is exactly the thinking that drove our Puritan, Quaker, and similar ancestors to America's shores in the first place. They purposely formed a nation where a particular religious belief and practice not required. Perhaps they should have stayed home and converted?
@heyjiajohnson @filarete_brand@ProjectLincoln As someone who has been poor and was able to work my way out of it, I can tell you that this glib answer does not reflect the real options that most people have, nor how precarious that "path" really is with our low min wage, cruel health care system and miserly social services.
