There wasn't anything wrong with Fair Drives. It's 100% about Frey and the Council majority soothing big business.

Stay vigilant about the "compromise" policy and who the Mayor taps to carry it. Don't forget who showed up for drivers and who only showed up to kill the policy.

I worked on Fair Drives Safe Rides every day for 10 months. It's a good policy backed by data, expertise, and lived experience. The Mayor's veto is racist, anti-worker, and incredibly weak. It also undercuts the work of his own staff.

In the month that I've been briefing CMs on Fair Drives, none has pointed to a provision they actually oppose. They only express vague discomfort. You can feel the corporate money pushing the Mayor pushing them. Two CMs told me to my face they hadn't read the policy. Pathetic. 6/

Super proud to be bringing this ordinance to the floor after months of work. Fair Drives, Safe Rides will raise wages & conditions for thousands of drivers, stick it to billionaire corporations, set a high bar for state leg & model labor policy that works in the gig economy 🌹

At 11:07 the chair announces the convention is indefinitely postponed because a translator didn't show up and the translation agency didn't have anyone else available. No language inclusion means no convention. They'll email us to reschedule something. Very cool and functional 👍
