@Forever_Urs525 Agreed. I think those outside the PS system are the ones impacted the most, which is part of the reason I keep talking about this. It's just ridiculous that we're being held responsible for a few cases compared to churches that are meeting with outbreaks in the 100s.

Hearing through the grapevine orders have been rescinded *for NETs* but no official paperwork or statements yet so it's all based on word of mouth.

If so, it's still a big 'ole yikes since more than just English Teachers live as foreigners here in Jeonnam. Just saying...

Outside the fact that this Administrative Order is xenophobic, the school administrators are flat out ignoring that Koreans are included in this type of testing making us even more of the scapegoat and to "blame" for COVID.

Despite being told this has been rescinded there has been no official paperwork and teachers / foreigners are still being required to be tested without requiring Koreans who work with them to be tested.

So business as usual in Jeonnam I see...

It's happening again: Covid xenophobia in S. Korea. South Jeolla Province mandates weekly testing of all workplaces that employ foreigners. Also applies to care homes, vulnerable groups etc, but underlying assumption is that foreigners are Covid carriers. Via @celestialesther

사전을 찾아보면 "제노포비아"라는 단어는 한국어로 "외국인 혐오"라고 번역되는데요. 사실 이는 올바른 번역이 아니라고 생각합니다. 제노포비아라는 단어 안에는 외국인에 대한 혐오뿐 아니라 "차별"과 "불신"도 포함됩니다.
