After 3 years of last minute clutches, two international trophies and being an undisputable fan favourite, we wish farewell to @leojannesson.
Whilst the last year hasn’t been what we or Leo had hoped for, we are incredibly proud that Leo’s career was with us and for all the achievements we had with him on our roster.
For now, Leo will be stepping away from VALORANT and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours. We’ll always be cheering from the sidelines 🧡

We will not participate in the EWC.
Message from CEO & co-founder below:
Hi everyone,
I’ve seen your reactions over the past few days regarding our decision to participate in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh. When we made that decision, it was with positive intentions. To engage with our community in the Middle East and to spread GeoGuessr’s core mission of let everyone Explore the World.
Since Erland, Anton, and I founded GeoGuessr in 2013, we’ve always strived to be a community-first game. Everyone here at the Stockholm office is a passionate GeoGuessr fan, doing our best to build something meaningful, with you and for you. That said, you - our community - have made it clear that this decision does not align what GeoGuessr stands for.
So, when you tell us we’ve got it wrong we take it seriously. That’s why we’ve made the decision to withdraw from participating in the Esports World Cup in Riyadh.
We will come back with information on how the wildcards will be distributed as soon as possible.
Thank you for speaking up and sharing your thoughts.
/Daniel
Really long tweet about #VCTEMEA sorry
I'm really disappointed about the issues in our region so far, as people could have already seen from my previous reply
A lot of the issues we're dealing with now have been ongoing since the beginning of franchising. In the first year or two, we raised concerns and were told to “be patient.” But now it’s year three, and nothing seems to be improving.
Hardware/Monitor issues – I’ll be honest: the gear we’re playing on could be a lot better. We’ve been giving feedback on the monitors for ages, and I honestly don’t even know what the reasoning is anymore—because every time we bring it up, we’re given a different answer.
The PCs aren’t optimized, settings change constantly, and most tech pauses are due to the game stuttering so badly. IT checks it and if they see it or not - we just keep playing. No fixes.
This week, we were told we’d be playing online on stage with 30 ping (I get 7 at home) to combat performance issues and tech pauses. But that’s not going to solve anything if the core issue—the hardware isn’t fixed. Everyone, LAN or online, is still experiencing stutters.
It’s honestly shocking to see every other region with superior PCs and monitors, while in EMEA we’re stuck with setups from League of Legends. And when we bring up performance issues, the answer is:
“But league of legends doesn't have this problem”
Crowd – They’ve removed the crowd for Wednesday games. Riot has their reasons, but we weren’t even told ahead of time. We found out the same day as fans did.
I feel bad for rookies making their tier 1 debut with no crowd—it takes away a huge part of the experience. And it’s worse for fans who traveled hoping to support their favorite players live.
Issues remain unsolved, and more keep getting added. I'm tired of hearing "we'll look into it/we'll fix it soon"
We’ve raised these concerns every split, every year, hoping for progress. I truly hope that now with everyone aware of these issues real improvements can finally happen. I'm happy you guys are making the Player Council where we will be more heard and hopefully the issues are going to be fixed, but for now i have to tweet this ❤️
